vRapid Mobile Device Suite - Innovative client software integrated by manufacturers into mobile devices to make them capable of updating Software Components Over-the-Air (SCOTA). Supports a diverse set of mobile platforms and operating systems. Ensures rapid handset integration using a small set of APIs.

    Update Installer

• Based on Red Bend's industry-leading, market-proven vCurrent Mobile client software
• Enables updating, adding and removal of individual embedded software components, versus the entire firmware image, in both Monolithic image and Read-Only File System structures
• Supports both NAND and NOR flash based platforms

    Software Management Extension

• Responsible for on-going validation and updating of device configuration data such as software component inventory and data integrity
• Compliant with the emerging OMA-DM SCOMO enabler
• Fully integrated with Red Bend's own DM Client offering, but can interface with any standard DM Client

vRapid Mobile Software Management Server Application - A J2EE application that manages and executes the workflow logic of managing software components. It is used by service providers to deliver software components that enable revenue-generating services. The application integrates with standards-based DM servers. Supports the emerging OMA-DM SCOMO standard enabler.

• Manages a repository of components/updates received from software owners
• Queries the device for software component inventory and configuration data
• Analyzes versions, dependencies and other data to ensure the required software components are delivered, and guarantees success of the transaction
• Dynamically selects, assembles and packages the appropriate software components for secure OTA distribution to devices, including multiple component packages
• Supports both pull (user initiated) and push (server initiated) SCOTA delivery
• Integrates with Customer Care systems to trigger the component delivery process

vRapid Mobile Component Management Suite - Central management console used by manufacturers to define, describe, organize and store the software components that constitute a device software release in order to prepare the device for supporting software component updates. Enables adding new software component versions, generating component updates, packaging components and updates with the appropriate management metadata, and uploading them to the management server. Functions can be extended to other parties such as ISVs and operators that are authorized by the OEM to manage their software assets.

• Automated extraction, calculation and recording of identified dependencies between software components
• Update Generation function creates a highly efficient delta-update between versions of a software component, then compresses components and updates for deployment on devices

vRapid Mobile Component Builder - An optional tool used for statically linked, monolithic image-based device platforms. Augments the standard Compiler-Linker tool chain and introduces a dynamic mechanism into the monolith to enable management of defined firmware components as separate entities.
