Extending the Lifetime of Hardware When deploying machine-to-machine solutions, adopters want to be assured that the solution they’re investing in won’t become outdated and unusable within a couple years. As such, Telit Wireless Solutions Inc., www.telit.com, Raleigh, N.C., recently debuted Telit Firmware Update Services, a service offering that allows customers to remotely update software on M2M modules. According to a Telit press release, the Firmware Update will help “M2M applications become much more stable, flexible, and secure.” Based on technology from Red Bend Software Inc., www.redbend.com, Waltham, Mass., “system integrators and developers can be guaranteed that the software is up-to-date with the latest enhancements and features,” the company says.
